Details On 12/23/2012, at approximately 5:40pm, Madison Police were dispatched to a road rage incident, which occurred in the Northport and Sherman Avenue area. Officers contacted victims who reported driving their Honda, and having a vehicle aggressively swerve at their car while driving erratically. The suspect, later identified as Joseph Buell, continued to cut off other vehicles, but focused his attention on the victims.

Both vehicles stopped at the intersection of Northport and Sherman Avenue, Buell got out of his vehicle, and after approaching the victims, proceeded to punch out the driver’s side window of the Honda. Glass was forcefully projected throughout the entire interior of the vehicle, and Buell went back to his car and drove off.

Police stopped Buell a short distance away, and it should be known that a 3-year-old female was in the backseat of the victim’s vehicle. Police noticed cuts to the bleeding hand of Buell, and he was placed under arrest. Buell stated he was trying to get away from the Honda that had been tailgating him, and offered to pay for the window! He was conveyed to the Dane County Jail.
