Suspect Arrested: Travis R. Windom, 20-year-old male of Madison
Charges: Battery To Law Enforcement Officer & Resisting/Obstructing An Officer
Details: On 12/28/2012, at approximately 4:16pm, Madison Police Officers responded to the 300 block of Troy Drive to convey Travis R. Windom to The Dane County Jail on a variety of charges listed above. Officers responded to the 700 block of West Main Street, shortly before 1pm, responding to a call that Windom was causing a physical and verbal disturbance. Officers attempted to communicate with Windom, but he refused to calm down or acknowledge that police were giving him directives to cease his disruptive behavior.
Windom stated, “I don’t care” as he levied an attack on one officer. They tried to take Windom into custody, and he punched one officer in the face and head approximately five times. This resulted in a bloody nose, mouth and a concussion. A Taser had to be used before the officers could get a resistive Windom under control, and take him into custody. He was taken to the Dane County Jail was without incident.
