Release from Rock County Sheriff's Office:
On November 3rd, 2012 at 2:43am deputies from the Rock County Sheriff's Office along with Orfordville Fire and Janesville EMS responded to a single motor vehicle crash, which occurred on S. CTH K near W. Avon North Town Line Rd, in the Town of Newark.
The investigation shows that a 1997 Chevy S-10 pickup truck was traveling southbound on S. CTH K when it failed to negotiate a sharp curve at W. Avon North Town Line Rd. The truck went into the south ditch and rolled over a few times, before coming to rest on its passenger side. The driver, identified as Samuel Timmons, age 23, from Beloit, was unconscious and pined inside the vehicle upon emergency personnel's arrival. Timmons had to be extricated from the vehicle and was
flown by react helicopter to Rockford Memorial Hospital, where he is in critical condition.
Both alcohol and speed appear to have been factors in this crash. Timmons was issued citations for OWI 2nd, OAR, and Driving too fast for conditions.
