The Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office is releasing the name of the man killed in the traffic crash on 08-11-14.
The two vehicle crash happened on Highway 19 at River Road in the Town of Westport, and involved a dump truck and a passenger car.
The driver and sole occupant of the passenger car was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
The deceased man is identified as 33-year-old Jesse E. Savage of Windsor.
A forensic examination took place at the Medical Examiner’s Office today. Preliminary results of that examination indicate that Mr. Savage’s death is the direct result of the injuries he sustained in the crash. Additional testing is underway at this time.
This crash remains under investigation by the Dane County Sheriff’s Office and the Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office.

WESTPORT, Wis. --- One person is dead following a crash between a dump truck and a SUV.
The crash happened Monday at 10:10 a.m. on State Highway 19 and River Rd. in Westport.
Investigators say the driver of the SUV was northbound on River Rd. and failed to "yield from a stop sign to a dump truck."
The driver of the SUV was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle. He died at the crash scene. His name has not been released but we know he was 33 years old and was from Windsor.
Highway 19 was closed in both directions as emergency crews responded to the crash.
