VIDEO REPORT: Marking An Anniversary

Posted Tuesday, February 14, 2012 --- 5:35p.m.

MADISON--For many, Valentine's Day is a day dedicated to love.

"There will always be a warm place in my heart for the love I showed the state of Wisconsin and to the U-W by participating in an event like this," said Adrienne Pagac, the co-president of the Teaching Assistants' Association.

For these groups it's purely political; today they're marking an anniversary."We marched from memorial union to the Capitol to memorialize the first anniversary of our initial march that took place this day one year ago," said Pagac.

Those protests kicked off massive rallies, partisan battles and recall elections that have dominated headlines in the state ever since. "We decided for the one year anniversary that it's really important to document what happened a year ago," said Harriet Rowan, who was celebrating the anniversary at the Capitol Tuesday. "Many people were too busy at the time to write down their experiences."

Others are addressing valentines to Governor Walker, just as they did last year. "Much like last year we brought valentines to remind the governor that we still very much love the U-W and love the state of Wisconsin in case he had forgotten from last year when we spent some quality time with him here," said Pagac.

Pagic said last year they left their valentines on the governor's desk. This year though they're opting to leave them in the "documentation station". That's where people are writing down their stories from last February and March. We're told they'll be giving those written accounts to the Wisconsin Uprising Archive.

So the self-absorbed liberal losers need to celebrate an anniversary? They can't compete in the real job market, but yet have the nerve to protest the fact we can't afford their ridiculous benefit packages....

I'd like to know what gives state workers the right to use our tax payer dollars to give themselves benefits much better than the average joe? Why don't you quit your jobs if your so disgusted with Walker? I'll tell you why: you know you're make off like bandits and no other company would give you such ridiculous benefits!

The public employees make less on a paycheck and get additional benefits. Nobody at the state is getting rich. Too bad private sector employers treat their employees poorly with lousy benefits, those workers should demand more.
