Residents in the village of McFarland are shocked tonight by the sudden death of a village official. 51-year-old Mike Harried, who served as the village's president, according to sources was found dead at his home later this afternoon.
Earlier today when Harried didn't show up to work and didn't make it to two village board meetings scheduled for this afternoon, board members got worried and called police.
“Mike was a young energetic single guy, he has served the village for many years, and I think it was just totally unexpected,” said former village president, Kathy Kirby.
It's still unclear what caused Harried's death.
