At 5:27 a.m., Deputies, Juda Fire and Monroe EMS responded to the N1700 block of Twin Grove Road, Town of Jefferson, for a single vehicle crash. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, Kenneth D. Bejster, age 46, of Monroe, was traveling south on Twin Grove Road when a deer reportedly entered his lane of travel.
After taking evasive action, Bejster 's vehicle entered the west ditch, traveled up an embankment, into a hayfield and struck a large boulder before coming to rest. Bejster reported wearing his seat belt. The vehicle sustained severe damage, was not equipped with airbags, and was towed from the scene.
Bejster was transported to an area hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. Bejster was subsequently arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence as a 3rd Offense and was cited for Failure to Maintain Control. He was incarcerated pending an initial court appearance or posting of cash bond.
