Three Walgreen pharmacies in South Central Wisconsin have been hit by a robber looking for the prescription drug Oxycodone.
Janesville police say the suspect walked into the Walgreens on Milton Avenue and presented a note to the pharmacist demanding Oxycodone. The pharmacist complied and the suspect fled with six bottles.
Last month, Madison police say a masked man tried to rob the Walgreens pharmacy on Cottage Grove after passing a note demanding the prescription drug. The suspect however, got spooked and took off empty handed.
A few days later police say an unusual call came into the same pharmacy, on the phone, a man claiming to have a gun, then ordered the employee to put Oxycontin in a bag and place the bag in the drive through drop box.
According to police, the man making the call who was watching the employee, was a slender man wearing a dark sweater. Then just earlier this month, a masked man robbed the Walgreens pharmacy on Mckee road, using the same method of passing a note and making a threatening statement.
Janesville police believe their robbery might be connected to the recent robberies in Madison. Police in Madison are not ruling out that possibility either.
Anyone with information is urged to call both Janesville and Madison police.
