There's no doubt tomorrow is a big day for Badger fans.

They will of course not only be celebrating in California, but also on campus here in Madison -- and today I'm told safety is a concern.

Matt Watson is a student at UW Madison.

They're excited for tomorrow's game.

"Hanging out with your buddies... watching the game... this is what Wisconsin is all about," Watson said.

Matt is of course a huge Badger fan.

"Games like this is what brings all of our students close together, you know, just rallying around our troops," he said.

But if all of the fun and games, Matt agrees ... safety is important.

"It's all about safety in the end".

Marc Lovicott with UW Madison police agrees.

"We understand it's going to be a real exciting time and with that comes people cheering, people getting excited, celebrating a victory we hope," Lovicott said.

Yet at the same time, Lovicott says there are some concerns.

"Public safety is our number one priority and whenever you get people crammed in one space, you have more of a probability of something happening."

That's why both UW Madison police and City of Madison Police will be increasing the number of patrols out on the street tomorrow, according to Lovicott.

Police are urging students to have fun, but to also stay respectful and "show the world what Badgers are all about".

Lovicott also said that he hopes they won't be needing the extra patrols, and that they're in place to be proactive.
