Posted Monday, February 3, 2014 --- 10:09 a.m.

ROCK FALLS, Ill. (AP) -- Wisconsin authorities say a Rock Falls business owner has died in a snowmobile accident in Wisconsin.

Sauk Valley Media reports that 46-year-old Timothy W. Litwiller of Milledgeville was killed Saturday after the snowmobile he was riding left a trail and struck several trees near Mercer, Wis.

Iron County Sheriff Tony Furyk says the accident is being investigated by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, but alcohol and speed are believed to be factors.

Litwiller owned Industrial Coating in Rock Falls.

Litwiller was a 1986 Milledgeville High School graduate, was a member of the Milledgeville Mens Club and the Elkhorn Creek Runners snowmobile club.

He is survived by his wife and two children.
