Saturday Morning Wisconsin News Headlines

Posted Saturday, November 10, 2012 --- 6:15 a.m.

Here is the latest Wisconsin news from The Associated Press:

WASHINGTON (AP) — Exit polls show the nation's big labor unions played a major role in helping President Barack Obama win the battleground states of Ohio, Nevada and Wisconsin. Now, its leaders hope to see a broader pro-union agenda from the White House. Topping the wish list — for now — is a push to raise taxes on wealthy Americans and discourage Obama from agreeing to any deal with Republicans over the looming "fiscal cliff" that cuts into Social Security and Medicare.

MAZOMANIE, Wis. (AP) — Authorities have released the name of a forklift driver who was killed on the job in Dane County. The medical examiner's office identifies the victim as 54-year-old Marc Nondorf of Dodgeville. Authorities say Nondorf was operating the forklift in the yard at Wick Homes in Mazomanie Wednesday morning when a load of trusses collapsed on him.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin veterans officials plan are planning a trio of Veterans Day ceremonies around the state. The first Department of Veterans Affairs ceremony is set for tomorrow morning at the agency's veterans home in Union Grove. DVA also will put on a ceremony at the agency's veterans home in King on Sunday afternoon.

BLACK EARTH, Wis. (AP) — A Wisconsin company is recalling about 99 pounds of beef tongue. The U.S. Department of Agriculture says Black Earth Meat Market is recalling the products because they may not have had the tonsils completely removed. The products were distributed to a restaurant in Wisconsin and a distributor in Illinois.
