Two schools were burglarized this past weekend in Watertown.
Here is the press release from the Watertown Police Department:
The Watertown Police Department is currently investigating burglaries to two schools that occurred in the late evening to early morning hours of November 10th and November 11th, 2012.
The first burglary occurred at Schurz School located 1508 Neenah Street in the early morning hours of November 10, 2012.
Unknown subjects broke a window and entered the school. While in the school, they forced their way into several offices causing extensive damage. At this point, the only thing believed to be taken was a small amount of cash.
The second burglary occurred at the Riverside Middle School located at 131 Hall Street in the early morning hours of November 12, 2012.
Unknown subjects entered the middle school through a window. While in the school they again forced their way into several offices causing extensive damage in those areas. At this time it has not been determined exactly what was stolen but it is believed to be a small amount of cash.
Both incidents are believed to be committed by the same suspects. These investigations are still active while police follow available leads.
