UPDATE: Snow Emergencies Declared

UPDATED---Tuesday, March 5, 2013 --- 10:40 a.m.

---A snow emergency remains in effect for the entire City of Madison until 7 a.m. Thursday March 7th. Residents are asked to keep their vehicles off the street today and tonight if possible. If you must park on the street this evening you should park on the ODD house numbered side of the street. Details on winter parking restrictions are available at www.cityofmadison.com/winter. Violations of the alternate side parking restrictions during a snow emergency are punishable by a $60 fine.

Parking is available in the cashiered sections of city-owned ramps in the downtown area. During a declared Snow Emergency you can park for no charge at the City ramps from 9 p.m. until 7 a.m. If you enter before 9 p.m. or leave after 7 a.m. you are liable for any parking charges before 9 p.m. and from 7 a.m. until the time you leave.

When parking in the ramps overnight, do not park on the top level so this area can be plowed. Be aware that vehicles stored in city ramps longer than 48 hours are subject to being ticketed and towed. Meters in lots and ramps are enforced 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.

Parking is also available at the Brittingham Park Shelter parking lot off of W. Washington AV.
Residents can sign up to receive text and/or email alerts whenever a snow emergency is declared at the city's web site www.cityofmadison.com/winter. You will also get storm and plowing updates at the site or by calling 261-9111.

---The Village of Barneveld has declared a Snow Emergency beginning at Midnight on Monday, March 4 and remains in effect for 48 hours.

---The city of Beloit has declared a Snow Emergency from 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 until 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 6, 2013.

---City of Boscobel DeclaresSnow Emergency
Mayor Steve Wetter has declared a Snow Emergency for the City of Boscobel that will go into effect at 8:00 A.M., March 5, 2013 until 6:00 P.M. March 6, 2013 in anticipation of forecasted blizzard-like conditions and heavy snow.
While the Snow Emergency is in effect, vehicle parking is not allowed on either side of public streets.

---SNOW EMERGENCY - Clinton, Wisconsin
In accordance with Village Ordinance 41-206, the Public Works Director for the Village of Clinton had declared a SNOW EMERGENCY in the Village of Clinton, from 1:00p.m. Tuesday March 5, 2013 until 1:00p.m. Wednesday March 6, 2013.
During the SNOW EMERGENCY, no one shall cause or allow the parking or standing of any vehicle, trailer or semi trailer, except emergency vehicles, upon any village street.
A WINTER STORM WARNING is in effect for most of southern Wisconsin today. Low pressure will pass south of Wisconsin through tonight, bringing a Total accumulation through this from around 6 to 7 inches in the Southern Wisconsin area. Winds this afternoon and evening will cause some blowing and drifting snow.
Residents are encouraged to stay home and make only necessary travel with extreme caution.

---The City of Columbus wil be under a snow emergency starting at noon on today's date. No vehicle may be parked on any public street or ally until 12 hours after the emergency is declared or until the snow has been cleared from the streets by our Public Works Department.

---The City of Fort Atkinson is declaring a snow emergency. The declaration shall take effect at 6:00 A.M. on Tuesday, March 5th, 2013 and remain in effect until 6:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 6th, 2013.

---The City of Janesville has declared a snow emergency for March 5 starting at noon. A snow emergency means that all parked vehicles must be removed from city streets and public parking lots until snow plowing operations are complete. To ensure that you do not receive a parking ticket, please move your vehicle prior to noon and keep your vehicle off city streets until they have been completely plowed. The best place to park during a snow emergency is in your garage or driveway. If you are unable to park in a driveway or garage, please park in one of the designated snow emergency parking stalls.

---The Village of Marshall is Declaring a Snow Emergency in Effect from Tuesday, March 5th at 7:00 am until Wednesday, March 6th at 9:00 am.

---The Town of Pleasant Springs has declared a snow emergency. All parking on town roads is prohibited from 6:00 am, Tuesday, March 5 until 6:00 am, Friday, March 8.

---City of Portage has canceled the Snow Emergency.

---The City of Stoughton has declared a Snow Emergency.
· Please park off street if possible.
· Parking will be even / odd.
· Goes into effect at Midnight to 8 A.M. and remains in effect until three (3) consecutive Midnight to 8 AM periods have elapsed, or the emergency is cancelled or extended.

---The City of Sun Prairie is declaring a Snow Emergency beginning at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, March 5 and ending at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, March 6 based on the weather advisory for 8-10 inches of snow for the Sun Prairie area beginning Monday and continuing into Wednesday. A Snow Emergency means that there is no parking on any City street until the Snow Emergency has ended. Vehicles parked on the street in violation of this ordinance can be ticketed ($50 fine) and may be towed.
