Victim: Female, age 34, Madison

Details: A west side Madison woman was left frightened after two men came to her home last week. One pushed his way inside, while the other stayed out. The stranger identified himself as a Madison Police detective and presented what looked like a "fake badge." He ordered the woman to stay away from a man with whom she had a long term relationship until a recent breakup.

She says the men who came to her home left in a burgundy colored Ford Explorer. She called the Dane County Communications Center and a dispatcher confirmed that no detectives had been sent to her residence.
