A local teen is hospitalized after crashing her car to avoid a deer on Saturday. It happened around noon Saturday on County Road H near New Glarus. That's when police said a deer ran in front of the 17-year old driver's car. She swerved to miss the deer but lost control and slid off the road, overturning in a ditch.
She was hospitalized, and right now there's no word on her injuries.
Officials say it's always best to just hit a deer head on if you don't have time to stop safely. Swerving can be dangerous, especially once it starts snowing.
