Thieves Injure Employee During Beaver Dam Hold Up

Posted: Tuesday, January 15, 2013 -- 11:14 p.m.

Police are searching for two men who held up an auto shop in Beaver Dam and sent one of the employees to the hospital.

Beaver Dam officer responded Tuesday night around 9 p.m. to the Auto Zone located on North Spring Street.

Witnesses say two white men in their mid-20's walked in wearing black ski masks. One of the suspects had a shotgun and the other had a handgun. They ordered the clerks to get down on the ground. At some point, the suspect with the shotgun got into a struggle with a store employee. He hit the employee in the head with the shotgun. The employee was later taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The shotgun was later recovered at the scene.

The suspects eventually fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. Witnesses say they drove off in a newer silver or gray SUV, heading east on Seippel Boulevard.

Right now, Beaver Dam police say no video surveillance is available.
