For students in some of the area's school districts, today's snowstorm translated into a day off. For others, it was just another day at school. We wanted to know what goes into the decision to hold--or cancel--class.
The spokeswoman for the Madison Metropolitan School District said they check-in with the streets dept., Madison Metro, the police, forecasters and the private bus companies they work with before making a decision. She said their first priority is student safety.
She also said you can't really compare the decision MMSD makes to other area districts, because the communities are different.
