Video surveillance led to the arrest of two armed robbery suspects Saturday night. Stories, about how the Sun Prairie twins ended up in a Madison hotel room with women they did not know, were not consistent. One suspect claimed he coordinated the rendezvous' by responding to a posting on However, one victim said it was a chance encounter she had with one suspect at a shopping mall that put them all together. She said she and a girlfriend were spending the night, and she invited her new friend to hang out for a bit. He arrived with his brother, and soon the two women and two men were all in the same hotel room. The victims said almost immediately they were battered and robbed. They told officers the twins claimed to have a gun and threatened to kill them. The brothers fled with a laptop computer, cell phones, cigarettes and cash. The MPD analyzed hotel surveillance video, and were able to connect one suspect to an earlier retail theft. It took place around 8:45 p.m. Saturday night at a Northport Dr. convenience store. There was also surveillance video of that crime, and a person in the video looked just like one of the hotel robbers. The investigation led to the identity of the man and took the MPD to his Sun Prairie home. There both he and his brother were arrested. The victims' property was also recovered
