Walker Raises Nearly $474,000 in Last Half of 2012

Posted Thursday, January 31, 2013 --- 6:40 p.m.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Gov. Scott Walker raised nearly $474,000 in the six months after he won his recall election in 2012.

Walker reported Thursday that he raised that much between July 1 and the end of the year. While significant, it pales in comparison to the $29.5 million he raised in the first half of the year as the June recall election loomed.

Walker entered this year with nearly $794,000 cash on hand.

Even though the recall is behind him, Walker faces his regularly scheduled re-election campaign in less than two years. He will enter that race with a significant cash advantage over whichever Democratic candidate emerges.

Walker made his summary page available late Thursday. His full report showing individual contributions was not immediately available on the state elections board website.

If he is so great Victor why is he STILL siphoning money from his campaign contributions to his legal defense fund? You better go back and read "The Farmer and the Snake". In fact it would be a good read for all you Walker lovers. Remember it goes something like "You knew I was a snake when you picked me up so why are you surprised that I bit you." Oh by the way there is no antidote for his kind of bite.

Walker's current Wisconsin's budgeting uses a cash accounting system. The cash accounting method allows maneuvers to bring the budget into balance, like pushing current liabilities into future budgets and counting anticipated revenue before they actually materialize. And this is what Walker has done to make it look like the budget is balanced. In 2010, Walker promised he would "require the use of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) to balance every state budget, just as we require all local governments and school districts to do." This method is a more stringent measure. Walker has since promised to being using GAAP in his upcoming budget, and he will begin with a $2.2 billion deficit, according to the Fiscal Year 2012 Comprehensive Annual Report submitted in December 2012 by Walker's Dept of Administration.

Thank you Governor Walker for all of the great things you are doing for Wisconsin and the honest, hard working tax payers.
