A local burn surgeon is warning parents to keep children away from glass fireplace doors after seeing an increase in the number of kids with serious burns.
The UW reports most burns happen in children just learning to walk and on the palm of their hands.
Glass doors can heat up to 400 degrees.
At just 157 degrees .. water can burn skin all the way through in just one second.
