Sun Prairie --- Lisa Walton-McGee knows what it's like to battle cancer. "The surgery, and then the chemo, and the radiation," said Lisa. Her sister Chelle also knows what goes into it, she's been by her side each step of the way.
"It was a long road but we got through it," said Chelle.
Lisa has been in remission for five years, but both sisters are still together fighting the deadly disease.
"We thought let's throw together a golf outing, not ever knowing that it would blossom to where it is today," said Lisa.
Friday, marked the 6th annual "Golf for a Cause," in Sun Prairie. It's an event that now brings out big names like Minnesota Wild's, Ryan Suter.
"They asked us to come out, and it's the least we can do to be here and be apart of it," said Suter.
It also raises a lot of money towards cancer research.
"This golf outing gets talked about year round, and the support and spirit behind it is just wonderful," said Lisa.
But for Lisa and Chelle, it's not just about golf. It's about a sisters' bond, and the fight for a cure.
"I see us doing this 20 years down the road, I really think we will," said Lisa.
In the past six years "Golf for a Cure," has raised over 30,000 dollars, and they're donating this year's proceeds to the UW's Carbone Cancer Center.
