BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) -- Candy shaped like marijuana leaves that's showing up on store shelves doesn't get kids high, but parents and anti-drug activists say the sweets represent a new low.

The "Pothead Ring Pots," "Pothead Lollipops" and bagged candy are being distributed to about 1,000 retailers around the country, including some in Buffalo, N.Y., where an irate parent asked city officials to fight back against the candy.

Drug-control advocates say the product could encourage young people to use real drugs.

The packaging includes a pot-smoking, peace-sign waving caricature and the word "Legalize." The distributor, Philadelphia-based Kalan LP, says the product sells well and this was the company's first complaint.

In Buffalo, Councilman Darius Pridgen says he'd refuse to grant licenses to stores in his district that planned to sell the candy.

This is just sick, what's wrong with the people that work at that company? Oh yeah they are a bunch of "pot heads" that only care about pushing forward their own agenda, and not kids.
