On October 1st the Dane County Board released their proposed spending budget for 2013. In the budget $522 million dollars was distributed among organizations and issues facing the county.
Monday night dozens showed up to a public hearing to voice their opinions on the proposed budget.
Many people agreed with how the money is being spent, while others requested additional funding.
Dr. Richard Harris is the President of a drug treatment program in Dane County. He says the need has increased for his organization, and they need more money. He was just one of many asking for more resources.
The County Board is expected to discuss the issues raised Monday, over the next two weeks. The full board will begin budget deliberations in mid-November.
