Wis. Valentines Apparently Prefer Tulips to Roses

MILWAUKEE (AP) — For Valentines shoppers in Wisconsin, tulips are apparently more romantic than roses.

A price-comparison Web site says red roses are one of the most popular search items nationwide -- but only in Wisconsin are those searches outnumbered by searches for tulips.

Sortprice.com compiled Valentine's-related searches from Jan. 17 through Friday. In Wisconsin, the most popular item was tulips, followed by Godiva chocolates and sexy lingerie.

Also making the top 10 here were massage oils, watches and fragrances from Calvin Klein and soccer star David Beckham.

The rankings are based on Internet searches from Wisconsin-based computers, not actual sales. That's because sortprice.com lists merchandise for other companies but doesn't make sales itself.
