Beltline construction to begin soon

Posted: Tuesday, April 8, 2014 --- 8:10pm

Drivers who are tired of dodging potholes have something to smile about. Construction season is underway. The bad news, drivers will likely face traffic delays and detours along the way.

This will probably be the case if you frequently travel along the Beltline. Starting mid-April, WisDOT will be repairing pavement and improving five bridge structures along the Beltline. Construction will be completed by about October.

All lanes on US 12/18 will remain open during the peak times of 6AM to 7PM. After 7PM, one lane will shut down. After 9:30PM, two lanes will close. Lanes will be narrowed and shifted to create room for construction.

Temporary nighttime ramp closures will be required at all ramps between Fish Hatchery Road and Stoughton Road. Longer-term ramp closures will be required at Park Street and John Nolan Drive. But, these closures won't affect traffic during big events like “Rhythm and Booms” and the first home game for Badger Football.
