Press Release from the City of Beloit:

Wednesday, May 11 – Beloit, WI: On Wednesday, May 18, the City of Beloit will unveil a prescription drug drop-box. The prescription drug drop-box will be located in the main entrance of the Beloit Police Department at 100 State Street.

The drop-box is available to all Rock County residents, is free of charge, anonymous, and does not require pre-registration. This program offers residents of Rock County a safe, anonymous, cost effective, and environmentally sustainable way to dispose of expired or unwanted medication at any time. The twenty-four hour drop box is a convenient disposal solution for expired or unwanted prescription drugs and over the counter drugs, including old pills, pet drugs, and medical patches/creams. The City requests that prescriptions are kept in their original containers with personal information removed or crossed out. In addition, we cannot accept sharps, chemotherapy drugs, or other non-pharmaceutical waste.

This program was made possible through the sponsorship of mutual stakeholders. The sponsors for this program include: the City of Beloit Water Resources, City of Beloit Police Department, Beloit Health System, Rock County Health Department, Partners in Prevention, and Crime Stoppers.
