Press Release from the Rock Co. Sheriff's Office:
In anticipation of the upcoming holiday weekend, as well as the following weekend’s scheduled Great Lakes Watercross PWC Race, the City of Beloit expects significant increases in boat traffic on Monday, July 4; Saturday, July 9; and Sunday, July 10.
As a result, the City of Beloit has requested the Rock County Sheriff’s Office enforce a slow-no-wake provision on a portion of the Rock River extending from the Henry Avenue Bridge to the Portland Avenue Bridge from 6:00 p.m. to midnight on July 4, and 6:00 a.m. to midnight on July 9 and 10. In an effort to ensure boater safety, the Sheriff’s Office concurs with the request.
