UPDATED: WB beltline in Madison back open following morning crash

MADISON, Wis.--- The Madison Fire Dept. says the truck that flipped and burned on the beltline was a City of Madison water truck. After the crash the driver of car helped rescue the truck driver.

The truck driver was taken to the hospital to get checked out.

HAZMAT dealt with leaking fuel from the truck's fuel tank.

MADISON, Wis.--- Westbound lanes of the beltline were re-opened shortly before 1:00pm following clean-up of a one vehicle crash.

The crash and fire closed the beltline near the Whitney Way exit. A City of Madison truck flipped late in the morning; it also burned.

There were no injuries.

MADISON, Wis.--- A late morning crash has closed westbound beltline in Madison near the Whitney Way exit.

The crash happened just before 11:00am. A photograph sent from an NBC 15 photojournalist shows a City of Madison vehicle overturned and with smoke all around. Another photo sent from a viewer shows the vehicle on fire.

There are no reports of any injuries or what caused the crash.

Crews are cleaning up fuel spilled.

The crash happened between the Verona Rd. and Whitney Way exits.
