Goodwill Offers Donation Sites During August Move-Out Days

Posted Wednesday, August 8, 2012 --- 3:17 p.m.

Press Release from Goodwill:

Goodwill has partnered with the environmentally conscious student group REthink Wisconsin to offer sites where individuals vacating their downtown Madison residence can donate their unwanted clothing, footwear, household items, computer equipment, books and other items to Goodwill. Donation carts manned by REthink volunteers will be available from August 10 to 14.

“Many times individuals who are moving don’t want to or can’t take some of their perfectly usable possessions with them,” said Maureen Roche, director of marketing and development for Goodwill Industries of South Central Wisconsin. “Now with the help of members of REthink Wisconsin, people can easily put these items to good use by donating them to Goodwill. The sale of these items will generate the revenue we need to provide life-changing services to individuals with disabilities and other challenges.”

Goodwill donation carts will be stationed at the following locations and will be available for use by anyone. A list of items Goodwill cannot accept is available at www.goodwillscwi.org. (The following list also is available at www.goodwillscwi.org.)
