The Ironman Wisconsin Triathlon is set for Sunday, September 8th. Residents should expect some traffic delays.
Officials expect the delays to begin at approximately 7:00 am when the event gets underway.
The course for Ironman can be viewed at www.ironmanwisconsin.com. Some residents in western Dane County will be affected by the bike portion of the event, and they should plan ahead for alternative routes.
Authorities will be directing traffic at major intersections throughout the day.
The event consists of a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike race and a 26.2-mile marathon.
More than 2,800 athletes will compete, 45,000+ cheering fans will line the course.
