Rabid bat found on Madison's northeast side

The Department of Public Health wants to inform the public that a rabid bat was found on Madison's northeast side.

The bat was found in the 500 block of Troy Drive in Troy Gardens on July 11.

Health officials want anyone who had contact with a sick bat at Troy Gardens from July 2-July 11 to contact them at 267-1989.

Or, people could call emergency dispatch at 255-2345 and ask for an Animal Service Officer. If you had contact with a sick bat, you should also call your doctor.
