Press Release from the Rock Co. Sheriff's Office:
The Rock County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting National Night Out on Tuesday, August 2, 2011, at Purdy Park, 100 W. Church Street in Orfordville, WI from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The annual National Night Out event was begun 28 years ago by the National Association of Town Watch group as a way to promote police-community partnerships; to prevent crime, violence and drug abuse; promote safety; and promote community unity. The Orfordville and Footville Fire Departments will be participating in conjunction with the Sheriff’s Office to provide a fun-filled evening for all who attend. Law Enforcement and Fire Personnel will be on-site to interact with citizens. Sheriff Spoden encourages Rock County residents to come out and enjoy an evening with your public safety emergency services personnel.
Some of the scheduled activities include:
K-9 Presentation and Demonstration
Rock County Sheriff’s Office Equipment Displays
Orfordville and Footville Fire Department Equipment Displays

National Night Out events occur across the country in more than 15, 000 communities with over 37 million people attending these events. Last year our National Night Out event drew 2,000 people. The success of National Night Out relies on community partnerships. Without the generous contributions from the following Rock County businesses, our National Night Out event would not be possible:

Knutes Bar & Grill
Orfordville American Legion
Woodmans Food Market
Community businesses or non-profits interested in participating by contribution or by having a booth display, should contact Sergeant Coulter at firstname.lastname@example.org, or (608) 757-7941.
