From the Madison Metropolitan School District:

Board Seeks Community Input on Superintendent Search Starting Tomorrow [Wednesday]

The Madison Metropolitan School District’s Board of Education will hold community input sessions this week to gain input on its search for the next superintendent.

“Selecting a new superintendent is one of our most important tasks as a Board, and to be successful, we need to work together with our community,” School Board President James Howard said. “Input and ideas from our staff, families and community partners will be crucial. We hope the community will join us in this process.”

Input from the community will be used to create a unique profile of what the community is looking for from its next school district leader. That profile will be used in the Board’s national search. Sessions will be facilitated by the Board’s search consultant, Ray & Associates.

Community input sessions will be held at:
-7pm, Wednesday, September 19 at East High School
-7pm, Thursday, September 20 at Memorial High School

If unable to attend, members of the community are also invited to complete a survey online at www.mmsd.org/superintendentsearch.

The Board will review candidates, introduce finalists to the community and make a final decision over the school year, with a targeted start date of July 1, 2013. A more detailed timeline is also available at www.mmsd.org/superintendentsearch.
