Sauk City --- A touch of snow blankets the area overnight, Thursday, making us wonder how ready are you for winter?

Chris Carnevale, is the general manager of McFarlanes', a 70,000 square foot hardware store in Sauk City.

"We've got salt, we've got boots, we've got shovels," said Carnevale.

It's quiet now, but Carnevale says, the empty aisles will soon fill up, after the first major storm.

"We sell a lot of snow equipment. The day after the big snow, it's kind of take what you can get," said Carnevale.

If you're looking for a new snow blower you have options.

"A single stage is the one that we have, which are for smaller, sidewalks, and stuff. The nice thing about the single stage, is that they're typically lighter. So if you had a porch or something you can pick them up," said Carnevale.

Those start at around $800.00. But if they don't meet your needs, there's always the two stage.

"Probably our typical one is, about 1,200 bucks. Our customer for these is the typical suburban homeowner, in a probably 20 mile radius of here," said Carnevale.

Plus, there's some good news for procrastinators.Carnevale says, the prices tend to stay the same without inflation after a big winter storm.
