From the City of Fitchburg:
In order to ensure that there is a sufficient supply of water reserved for fire protection and domestic use, the Fitchburg Utility District No. 1 will be enforcing mandatory outdoor water usage restrictions in accordance with the Water Use Ordinance until further notice.
Outdoor water usage will only be allowed as indicated below:
-- If you live on the odd numbered side of the street, sprinkle your lawn only on odd numbered days.
-- If you live on the even numbered side of the street, sprinkle your lawn only on even numbered days.
-- If it is necessary for you to sprinkle your lawn, please do so before 9:00 a.m. or after 9:00 p.m., and as indicated above.
Please note, placement of new yards is not advised. We do advise you water newer trees (including street trees between the curb and sidewalk) and plants that are susceptible to damage from this dry period.
