The 2012 Rock County Law Enforcement Memorial Service

From the Janesville Police Department:

The 2012 Rock County Law Enforcement Memorial Service will be held on May 15, 6PM at Rotary Gardens (1455 Palmer Drive).

The purpose of the ceremony is to recognize the sacrifice and service of law enforcement officers within Rock County.

The ceremony takes place during National Police Week (May 13-19) which pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.

Fallen law enforcement officers to be honored at the service include Beloit Officer Peter Larsen and a newly discovered line of duty death in Beloit from 1935, Merchant Officer Fred Samp.

Also to be recognized will be Beloit Officer Jim Kumlien and Janesville Detective Michael Duerr.

The keynote speaker will be Rock County Judge James Daley.

This ceremony is free of charge and open to the public.
