West Dayton Street to be closed in Madison starting Wednesday

Posted Monday, January 6, 2014 --- 7:14 p.m.

According to a release, the 300 block of West Dayton Street in Madison will be closed to traffic starting Wednesday.

West Dayton between North Henry and North Bassett streets, as well as the 100 and 200 blocks of North Henry Street will be closed to through traffic.

Officials said that the closure will be from 7 a.m. Wednesday through the end of the work day on Sunday.

JH Findorff and their subcontractors will be putting up a tower crane adjacent to Madison Fire Station No. 1 on Wednesday, according to the release.

Local vehicle access to residences and the Overture Center Parking Garage in the 300 block of West Dayton Street will be maintained from the west at all times. Pedestrian traffic will be maintained on the south side of the 300 block of West Dayton and to all residences at all times during the closure.

Motorists are encouraged and bicyclists to use alternate routes to avoid delays during the closure.
