Incident Report: OWI Crash/Great Bodily Harm

Address: I-43 Hwy 14 near the Town of Darien
On Sunday night, March 24, 2013 approximately 9:48pm, Walworth County Deputies responded to a report of a rollover crash on I-43 near Hwy 14 in the Town of Darien.
Upon arrival, Deputies determined that a northbound 2007 Ford Pick-Up Truck, operated by Ricardo Orlando Villalobos, age 25, slid off the icy highway while attempting to exit the ramp to Hwy 14. The truck went down the embankment, striking a tree, and partially ejecting Villalobos. Also severely injured in the crash were passengers Isidro Angel Santana-Ruiz, age 21, and Eddie Christian Santana, age 22. All three men reside in Beloit, WI.
Santana-Ruiz was flown to a Milwaukee area hospital. He sustained multiple broken bones to the arm and hand and facial injuries. Santana was taken by ambulance to a Milwaukee area hospital. He sustained a broken neck, broken back, and facial injuries. Villalobos was flown to a Madison area hospital. He sustained a broken ankle, broken pelvis, and head injuries.
The Walworth County Sheriff’s Office will be referring charges to the District Attorney’s Office for the following alleged offenses: Operating While Intoxicated, Operating While Intoxicated causing Great Bodily Harm (two counts), Operating While Suspended, Open Intoxicants in Motor Vehicle, and Operating Without Insurance.
