UPDATE: Man Killed in Fiery Fond du Lac County Crash

UPDATED Tuesday, May 14, 2013 --- 6:16 p.m.

FOND DU LAC, Wis. (AP) -- Fond du Lac County sheriff's officials say the driver of a van killed in a fiery crash was a 52-year-old Fond du Lac man.

Authorities say his van hit a bridge support under Highway 41 in the Town of Byron and ignited about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday. The driver was the only one in the van.

The sheriff's office identifies the victim as 52-year-old John Krug of Fond du Lac.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation will inspect the bridge support for damage.
