Tuesday Morning Wisconsin News Headlines

Posted Tuesday, June 12, 2012 --- 6:30 a.m.

Here is the latest Wisconsin news from The Associated Press:

BAY CITY, Wis. (AP) -- Searchers will be out again today on Lake Pepin in Pierce County looking for a man who fell from a boat. Sheriff's authorities say the 38-year-old man was in a boat with his wife on the lake east of Bay City Saturday. Lake Pepin is a wide spot in the Mississippi River on the Wisconsin-Minnesota border.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Plenty of Wisconsin food and beverages will be on the menu when Gov. Scott Walker hosts his so-called "brat summit" today. The Republican governor has invited members from both political parties to join him at a cookout a week after he fought off a Democratic-led attempt to recall him from office. Walker is hoping the event will help him mend some fences.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama says he doesn't expect broad political repercussions from Republican Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker's success holding on to his office. He adds, however, that he would have "loved to see a different result."

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) -- Presumptive presidential nominee Mitt Romney is returning to New Hampshire on Friday to start a six-state bus tour the campaign is calling "Every Town Counts." The five-day tour will continue through Pennsylvania, Ohio, Wisconsin, Iowa and Michigan.
