Here is the latest Wisconsin news from The Associated Press:

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (AP) — Sheboygan police are focusing on the Milwaukee area as they search for a suspect in a fatal shooting. Investigators say the 27-year-old suspect has ties to Milwaukee and may have fled there. Twenty-four-year-old Brandon Davis was shot in Sheboygan this weekend.

DETROIT (AP) — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers says it's once again found genetic material from invasive Asian carp in samples taken from waters near Lake Michigan. Environmentalists say the findings mean "another year of worry" about the invasive fish that have migrated up the Mississippi River and its tributaries. Experts worry about what could happen if the fish make their way into the Great Lakes.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin residents will get to sound off today on whether state environmental officials should grant an air permit to a company that wants to build a sand mine in Sparta. U.S. Silica Company wants a permit for an industrial sand mine and processing plant in the western part of the state. Today's public hearing will be held at Sparta's City Hall.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin's maple syrup production sank 68 percent this year because of the warm spring weather. The state produced just 50,000 gallons of syrup this year. Wisconsin wasn't the only state whose harvest suffered. Every major producer except Maine saw a decrease.
