Two people were transported by medical helicopters to UW Hospital following a crash in Columbia County.
The crash happened around 6:45 p.m. Monday at the intersection of State highway 73 and County Highway AW in the township of Randolph.
Deputies say a westbound car failed to stop at the intersection and ran into a southbound pickup truck.
Deputies said both drivers were trapped in their vehicles and had to be extricated.
The truck driver, a 35-year-old woman from Randolph, was in critical condition. A status was not given for the 32-year-old driver of the car from Mayville.
The names of the victims have not been released.
Investigators said failure to yield the right of way, failure to stop when required and speed appear to be factors in the crash.
