MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Two Democratic state lawmakers say they won't run for re-election this fall while a third announced she'll run for the state Senate.
Rep. Tamara Grigsby of Milwaukee spent two weeks in intensive care this past session following complications related to a cancer treatment. She said Tuesday incivility in the Legislature affected her health and she wants to regain her strength.
Rep. Tony Staskunas of West Allis said Tuesday saying he wants to seek new challenges. He did not elaborate.
Rep. Elizabeth Coggs of Milwaukee, meanwhile, posted an announcement on Facebook saying she planned to run to replace her cousin, Spencer Coggs, in the Senate. Spencer Coggs won election as Milwaukee County treasurer earlier this month.
A message left at Elizabeth Coggs' Capitol office wasn't immediately returned.
