SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (AP) --- Sheboygan County sheriff's officials say billboard and media coverage of an unsolved double murder from nearly 20 years ago has recently yielded dozens of new leads.
Capt. Dave Adams says that 40 people have called on the 1988 murders of Eddie and Frances Cizauskas since the reopened investigation was publicized last month.
He says detectives know who killed the couple and are working to solidify the case before turning it over to prosecutors.
The case was reopened three years ago.
The bodies of 75-year-old Eddie Cizauskas and his 73-year-old wife, Frances, were discovered in a storage barn at the couple's Sheyboygan business, Eddie's Jalopy Jungle.
Investigators at the time said the murders part of a robbery attempt.
