TOWN OF BERGEN, Wis. (AP) --- A Vernon County teenager has suffered head injuries after an SUV smashed into his Amish buggy, ejecting him and his passenger.
A nursing supervisor at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center says 17-year-old Enos Detweiler was in fair condition Saturday.
Authorities say a 30-year-old La Crosse man was driving early Friday morning when he crashed into the buggy. Detweiler was ejected, along with a 19-year-old passenger.
The passenger wasn't hurt.
Sheriff Gene Cary says the horse was injured and ran away, but it was later found and treated.
