GREENFIELD, Wis. (AP) -- A suburban Milwaukee high school senior is killed while drag racing after school.
Seventeen-year-old Justin Meyer from Greenfield died Monday afternoon after losing control of his Pontiac Ventura and wrapping it around a tree. Meyer's 14-year-old brother, Jason, was injured in the crash.
Greenfield police say Meyer slid more than 500 feet before hitting the tree sideways.
Grief counselors will be on hand Tuesday to help Whitnall High School students deal with the loss of their classmate.
Nearly 200 people, mainly students, gathered at the scene of the crash Monday night.
