VIROQUA, Wis. (AP) -- A Gays Mills man who pleaded no contest in a fatal bar fight in Vernon County has been sentenced to 12 years in prison.
Twenty-six-year-old David Heisz was also ordered Monday to serve 8 years of extended supervision following his release.
A criminal complaint says Heisz and his brother, Mikeal Heisz, got into a fight with Kelly Kuykendall at Pat's Corner Bar in Readstown last February. Prosecutors say Heisz assaulted the 50-year-old Kuykendall when the fight spilled outside. Kuykendall suffered a skull fracture and brain injuries.
David Heisz pleaded no contest to an amended charge of second-degree reckless homicide.
Mikeal Heisz is in jail on charges related to the fight.
