Father Finds Son in Partially Submerged Pickup

CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (AP) -- A father found his son in an overturned and partially submerged pickup truck in Chippewa County.

Sheriff's officials say Frank Teumer went searching for his 22-year-old son Adam Teumer early Monday, after a friend reported he was talking to Adam by cell phone and then heard tires squealing and a splash.

The father found him after he traveled the route Adam Teumer normally would take home. The son was pronounced dead at a hospital.

The vehicle swerved off the shoulder, Adam Teumer then overcorrected and slid across the southbound lane into a ditch, where the vehicle overturned.

The sheriff's department says Adam Teumer was not wearing a seat belt, and alcohol may have contributed.
