RACINE, Wis. (AP) — A 31-year-old sexual assault suspect shot by police has been charged with 11 felonies in Racine County.
Chad Schuster, of Racine, faces two counts of attempted first-degree intentional homicide, two counts of first-degree reckless endangerment of safety, false imprisonment, second-degree sexual assault, physical abuse of a child, child enticement, attempting to flee and strangulation and suffocation, all as a repeat offender.
According to a criminal complaint filed Friday, Schuster is accused of tying up, sexually assaulting and beating a 16-year-old girl.
When police found Schuster, he allegedly backed up toward officers, causing one to shoot. Schuster was hit in the back and treated at a hospital.
A message left for his attorney, Carolyn Delery, was not immediately returned Saturday.
Bond is $250,000. A preliminary hearing is Aug. 20.
