MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Milwaukee police say an officer fired his weapon at an alleged drunken driver who was trying to run him down.
Police spokeswoman Anne E. Schwartz says no one was injured in the incident that happened in a local parking garage early Sunday morning.
The suspect is a 29-year-old Butler man. Schwartz says he has a criminal history that includes arrests ranging from drug offenses to battery and burglary.
The case has been forwarded to the district attorney's office for possible charges.
The 28-year-old officer is in his second year with the Milwaukee Police Department. He has not been placed on administrative leave and will be returned to active duty.
